Best to start this off before uni kicks into action and this dwindles into the abyss and dies. The aim of these blogs (hopefully they last the year) is just a way for me to vent my thoughts on the advertising world...and possibly knock off some early research folder work. Guess I'll just start off with a few ads that I have liked from the past years.
This Whiskers is quite pleasant on the eyes. Intended message is obvious and the tag line is almost not needed (dam that's going to suck if I go into copy writing). Nice lead in with the little paws towards the bowl (implies kitten) followed by large paws (implied big cat/lion). Nice solid branding of the whiskers purple helps to cement the ad.
Interesting placement of tombstones with an area for those who don't smoke...I wonder what that means?
I find the humour in this quite nice for the tone of the ad. interesting placement of the tag line (located down the left side of the ad). Simple colours, easy to convey the message with no trouble.
For now im giving this a break...
